Does Nordstrom price match? No, but it will adjust a price drop within 10 days

The short answer

It does offer a price adjustment on its own price drops. If Nordstrom lowers the price of an item you already bought at full price and it still has the same color and size available, it says it will adjust the price at your request within 10 days of your in-store purchase or shipment date. The rules for a price adjustment

• 10 days. The request has to come within 10 days of your in-store purchase or the date the item shipped.
• Full-price purchases only. Price adjustments aren't eligible for items originally purchased on sale.
• Same color and size. Nordstrom must still have the same color and size available.
• One per item. Only one price adjustment per item is allowed.
• Not for third-party sellers. Items bought from third-party sellers or Nordstrom Marketplace aren't eligible.
• Refund to your original payment. Approved adjustments are credited to your original form of payment.
• No automated requests. Nordstrom says it doesn't accept automated price adjustment requests from third-party services, so you'd need to ask yourself.

Savings events and the Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom says that if the same color and size are still available, items included in Nordstrom savings events and Nordstrom Anniversary Sales are eligible for price adjustments. (Nordstrom) The rule that adjustments aren't available on items you originally bought on sale still applies.

Nordstrom also says it isn't responsible for changes in prices listed in catalogs or for the availability of products, and that items may not be available in every Nordstrom store.

How to use this when you shop

• Write down your date. The clock starts at the in-store purchase date or the shipment date, whichever applies. For example, if an order ships on the 3rd, the 10 days run through the 13th. That's our arithmetic, not a Nordstrom example, so check how Nordstrom counts.
• Check the size and color. If the version you bought is sold out at the new price, the policy as written doesn't cover it.
• Don't expect a match on another store's price. If you find a lower price at a different retailer, Nordstrom's page says it won't match it.
• Look at the price before you buy. Because sale purchases aren't eligible, a full-price purchase is the only kind you can ask to have adjusted.
