Costco's price adjustment: the 30-day rule and how to request it
When Costco will refund a price drop on something you bought, how to request it for Costco.com and warehouse purchases, and what it won't match, from Costco's own page.

The short answer
Costco says that for members other than resellers, purchases that reduce in price within 30 days of the date of purchase are eligible for a price match. Products with promotional item limits are eligible up to the limit quantity. (Costco)

How to request it
- Costco.com purchases: use the "Request a price match" form on Costco's page. Costco says that once approved, credits are typically issued within 5 to 10 business days to the original form of payment. (Costco)
- Warehouse purchases: inquire at the Returns counter at the Costco warehouse where you made the purchase. (Costco)
- Tires and wheels: Costco says they qualify if all other conditions are met. Online purchases use the online form, and warehouse purchases go to the warehouse where you bought them. (Costco)
Items with sale dates
For items with specific sale dates, such as holiday savings promotions, Costco says the request must be submitted within both the active promotional dates and 30 days of the purchase date. It says requests submitted after the promotion has ended may be denied. (Costco)
What it does not cover
- Other businesses' prices. Costco says it does not price match with other businesses or retailers. (Costco)
- Costco warehouse prices for Costco.com purchases. Costco says Costco.com prices take into account shipping and handling fees not applicable to warehouse purchases. (Costco)
- Precious metals, which Costco says are not eligible for a price match or any promotions. (Costco)

Costco also says it reserves the right to deny a price match request at its sole discretion, and that it may restrict the policy in the future, with restrictions shown at the point of purchase. (Costco)
How to use this when you shop
- Keep the receipt or order number. You need to show when you bought it.
- Put the date in your calendar. The window is 30 days from the purchase date.
- Check the promotion dates. For sale-priced items, the request has to fall inside the promotion too.
- Compare before you buy. Costco won't match another store, so the checkout price is what you can compare.
