Lowe's price match: what it matches, what it excludes, and how to ask
What Lowe's will match, the items and offers it leaves out, and how to ask in a store or online, from Lowe's own Lowest Price Guarantee page.
Updated October 27, 2026 · Everything below comes from Lowe's "Lowest Price Guarantee" page, read on that date. The link is at the bottom. Lowe's can change the policy, so check its page before you rely on it.
The short answer
Lowe's says that if you find a current lower price on an identical in-stock item from another local retailer, it will match the price. The competitor must be able to ship the item to your location, and the match includes the price of the item plus shipping or delivery cost. (Lowe's)
It also says its local stores do not honor online pricing, and that it won't match a price from one Lowe's store to another or from one ZIP code to another. (Lowe's)
How to ask
- In a store: show a website, ad, printout or photo to an associate so they can validate it. (Lowe's)
- Online: if you find a lower price on an identical item, chat with Lowe's or call 1-877-465-6937 for validation. Lowe's says it will only honor requests submitted directly by the person who made the purchase. (Lowe's)
What it does not cover
Lowe's lists these exclusions. (Lowe's)
- Competitors' pricing for professional services, including labor and installation.
- Custom products, meaning special order customized or configured items such as custom cabinets, windows and blinds.
- Discontinued, used, refurbished, open-box, clearance, seasonal, closeout or damaged merchandise.
- Rebates, free offers, Buy 1 Get 1 and Buy More Save More offers, tax-free events, and one-time-only promotions, including Black Friday and other holiday promotions, special events and bundles.
- Discounts for select groups such as military or loyalty members, and volume or wholesale pricing.
- Pricing from membership-based retail wholesalers.
- Third-party marketplace sellers, auction sites and closeout sites. Lowe's gives an example: it price-matches items sold by Amazon.com, but not by a third-party seller on Amazon.com.
- Sales tax, advertising pricing errors or misprints, and credit terms and finance offers.
Lowe's also says the guarantee can't be combined with any other Lowe's offer, promotion, discount or coupon, and that it can limit requests to reasonable quantities. (Lowe's)
How to use this when you shop
- Match the exact item. The policy says identical, so check the model number, not just the product name.
- Screenshot the seller and the stock status. The competitor has to have it in stock and be able to ship it to you.
- Use a retailer, not a marketplace seller. Third-party sellers are excluded.
- Don't plan around holiday sales. One-time and holiday promotions are on the exclusions list.
